Michelle Cox Obituary

Michelle Hargadon Cox, 50, of Waddy, passed away on Friday, the 26th day of January, 2024, at University of Kentucky Healthcare in Lexington. Born in Louisville on the 8th day of October in 1973, she was the daughter of Elizabeth Hargadon and the late Frank Patrick Hargadon IV. She was a member of the Church of the Annunciation in Shelbyville. An educator by profession, she was a dedicated teacher, teaching eighth math for the first two years during her career at the East Middle School in Shelbyville. Thereafter, she taught tenth, eleventh, and senior biology, physiology, and anatomy at the Shelby County High School. She also served for several years as the chairman of the Science Department.

Her survivors include her loving husband of over twenty-eight years, Kevin Cox of Waddy; her two sons, Adam Cox and Jacob Cox, both of Waddy; her daughter, Erin Cox of Waddy; her mother, Elizabeth Hargadon of Waddy; her siblings including her brother, Pat Hargadon and his wife, Terry, an her sister, Mary Jo Lyons and her husband, Jim, all of Waddy, her sister, Kelly Mount and her husband, Larry, of Huntsville, Alabama, her sister, Jennifer Hamilton and her husband, Jeff, of Simpsonville, her brother, Mike Hargadon of Waddy, and her sister, Karen Swigert and her husband, Camm, of Charlotte, North Carolina; and her numerous nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:00 A.M., on Wednesday, the 31st day of January, 2024, at the Church of the Annunciation in Shelbyville, with the Reverend Jean Gonzalez celebrating. Interment will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. Visitation will from 2:00 P.M., until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, the 30th day of January, 2024, at the Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Shelbyville. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Church of the Annunciation, 105 Main Street, Shelbyville, Kentucky 40065, or to the Cancer Markey Center Foundation, 115 Waller Avenue, No. 204, Lexington, Kentucky 40503, or URL https://ukmarkey.org/honor-a-loved-one/. I´m also coming to your house to check in on you. I´m so sorry for loss because I know you lived her so much. I love you so much, your sister Angie. I´m not going nowhere.
