Joseph Firmin Falleur
March 16, 1933 – April 24, 2025
Joseph Firmin "Joe" Falleur, 92, of Muldrow departed from this life to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Joe was born March 16, 1933, to the late Oscar J. Falleur and the late Frances Marie Epple of Fort Smith, Ark. Joe was the eldest son of five siblings; Marian, Annis, Jerry, June and Ed. Joe graduated from St. Anne's High School in 1950. He married Geraldine Martin in 1958 in Fort Smith and remained so for the next 54 years.
Joe was active in the Boy Scouts for several years. He was drafted by the U.S. Army in April 1953 and served as a military policeman at the end of the Korean War from Nov. 1954- April 1955, and he was honorably discharged after concluding his service in the USAR in May 1961. Joe began his working career as a printer for Weldon, Williams and Lick in Fort Smith. When he returned from active duty, he started as a glass cutter, and later, was promoted to boss cutter (supervisor) for Harding Glass Company where he worked for 17 years. He started a new career at Bekaert Steel and Wire Company in Van Buren where he worked for 19 years as a production manager until he retired in 1995. Joe was a board member of the Cookson Electric Coop in Stigler. He served in various positions from board member to President from 1985 until 2015. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he was volunteer fireman for the Central fire department.
Joe and Gerry raised six children, Joseph Patrick, John Mark, William Charles "Bill," Anne Marie, Philip Stephen and Keith Daniel.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m., with the Rosary being said at 6 p.m., on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1 at St. Boniface Catholic Church with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Joe is survived by five children, 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and his brother, Ed. Joe and Jana Henry Falleur and son, Evan; Mark Falleur and daughter, Aniston and daughters, Kylie Falleur Grinstead and son, and Kelsie Falleur Jones, husband, Jon, son and daughters; Bill and Linda Teague Falleur and son, Mesa; Anne Marie Falleur Nelson, son, Josh Randolph and children, and daughter, Sara Randolph Poindexter, and husband, Austin and children; Philip and Nancy Doherty Falleur and children, Eliana, Krystian, and Bella; Keith Falleur (deceased) and children Ethan Falleur and Trista Falleur; Ed Falleur and Carlene Shelby Falleur and children, Yvette, Shelly and Greg.
Pallbearers will be Greg Falleur, Bill Falleur, Joe Falleur, Mark Falleur, Philip Falleur, Krystian Falleur, Evan Falleur, Lee Watson.
