Minnie Hubler Obituary
Minnie Jewell Hubler
Jan. 7, 1929 – July 2, 2025
There was a big celebration on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 as Heaven welcomed one of its finest angels back home. Minnie Jewell Hubler was born Jan. 7, 1929, at a mere three pounds to Floyd and Elsie Treadwell. While she was tiny in size, she made up for it with her big heart and strong spirit. She lived her life in service to others, and she always did it with a smile. During the conflict of World War II, she met and fell in love with a handsome soldier in the Army named Peter Penrose Hubler Jr. They were happily married on April 17, 1945.
She worked side by side with her sweetheart for 72 years, giving birth to their eight precious children, raising crops, and gardening. Jewell was a true cowgirl through and through. She had more energy than the energizer bunny and was quicker than speedy Gonzales, which came in handy on several occasions. She was the fastest cook in the west and was known for her signature chocolate gravy and biscuits.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in many callings from teaching children's Sunday School to going on a two-year Stake Mission in Talihina, Oklahoma with her husband, Penrose. She loved the color red and loved celebrating holidays, especially Easter. Every year she would have all of her family get together for their annual Easter Egg Hunt.
Jewell's memory is cherished by her four daughters, Marjorie and husband, John Haskell of Welch, Janice and husband, Eric Trapp of Proctor, Teresa and husband, Ron Gates of Gore and Connie and husband, John Lauderdale of Gore; her son, Tracy Hubler and wife, Kellie of Gore; son-in-law Duwayne Briley of Webbers Falls, daughter-in-law Wanda Mons of Wagoner; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her two sisters, Wanda Ritter and Janie Moore; brother, Carl Treadwell; brother-in-law, Lynn Hubler and wife, Irma.
She has been reunited with her parents; her husband; two sons, Darrell and Travis; daughter, Kathie Briley; one granddaughter, Stephanie Long; brothers, Bob, Jim, and Mike; and sister Betty Sumpter.
Jewell's services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Gore under the direction of Hibbs Funeral Home, followed by interment at Stevenson Cemetery.
We love you, Jewell, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck! Your memory will be eternally cherished. Hugs and kisses till we meet again…
