I fell in love with Aaliyah the first time I saw her at school in kindergarten. I had no idea she was sick, I hadn't heard the news about her. I looked all over the school for her this year until a classmate of hers told me the tragic news. I can't begin to tell you how shocked I was. I feel like she was one of my own kids. I'm going to miss you my little "sunshine eyes". I know you're here with us but it's hard when we can't touch you or see you. I love you and some day we'll see you again. I hope you liked the bubbles the students at school blew for you! Mom and Dad, your loss is our loss too. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I'll be seeing you, "Little Miss Sunshine Eyes". I'm so sorry for your loss. Aaliyah was my daughter Jade's classmate from Kindergarten to First Grade and she was always nice and pleasant everytime I see her. She would always greet me Hi Jade's Mom! She is always nice and neat everytime I see her and always wearing the school uniform and her braids. Jade and our whole family would always remember in our heart Aaliyah smile.

My heartfelt condolences go to you, Lynda, and to your family at this trying time. God bless you all and keep you in His loving care. Absent from the body is your loved one, but she is present with God, which is far better. One day, we saints of God will be with her again and what a glorious day that will be. Yet for now we are saddened by such a great loss. Just trust in God and He'll see you through. I know for a fact since He was there for me when my beloved grandmother died. God bless and keep you always.

Dear, beautiful child! As a grandma myself, I think especially of Grandma Lynda DeVera in this time of great loss. Lynda is my timekeeper at work. How much we wish Aaliyah's time here had been decades-lengthened. Instead we leave her in God's time. Carolyn

It was an honor to have the opportunity to know Aaliyah and take part in her care over the past few months. I smile thinking of the immense love displayed by her family while having everyone by her bedside for pizza and dinner. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Aaliyah as you celebrate her life in the days ahead.
