May 14, 1920 – April 2, 2015
Passed away peacefully April 2, 2015 at the age of 94. Beloved husband of the late Jean Russell Matli; loving father of Linda Jean Yribarren, Richard John Matli, Mary Christine Gowey, Robert Anthony Matli, Russell Joseph Matli, Barbara Lee Matli and Tony Albert Matli; son of the late Antone and Julia Matli; grandfather of Christi Yribarren, Jeff Yribarren, Rich Matli, Thom Sinclair Matli, Roselle Busch, Elizabeth Bonilla, Deanne Gowey, Nicole Schorno and Jaclyn Matli; and great grandfather of Maryana Bonilla, Veda Bonilla, Beryl Yribarren and Jocelynn Busch.Albert was a graduate of Mission Dolores High School. He served proudly in WWII in the Army Air Corp. He worked as a mailer for the San Francisco Newspaper Agency and belonged to the Int'l Telegraph Union, Native Sons of the Golden West and Societi Di Formazza.
The most important thing to our Dad was his family. He had his hands filled with 7 children and handled it with grace and love.
Friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service on Monday April 13, 2015 at 12pm at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave, Daly City. Reception to immediately follow.

We were able to get to know Al and Jean through their wonderful daughter Linda who we miss so much. Jim , Linda, Jeff and Christi were a major part of our lives in San Francisco and Martinez. Mr Matli was a real gentleman, low-key and very personable. He had a certain calm about him yet gave off a sense of warmth and sincerity. In short, we liked him, he really was a nice guy. I'll never forget driving up to the Valley with Al and Jean many years ago.. I came to visit and they treated my like a daughter. Every time I came in, Al made me feel welcome and nothing was ever too much to ask. He will be missed and you all are in my thoughts and heart.

We were blessed to grow up with such a wonderful man as our Father. He was always a positive influence on us as kids, and we always had his full support as adults. He led by example. Miss him already.

My Dad was a likable gentle gentleman. Everyone who knew him, loved him. I was truly blessed to be raised by such a wonderful father. I trust that he is at peace, and in the arms of my Mom. Miss him already.
