Alexander Christ Obituary
05/31/1936 - 09/20/2025
Alexander "Alex" Christ, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his San Francisco home on September 20, 2025, surrounded by family. He was 89. Born in 1936 to George and Venetia Christ, Alex was a proud San Franciscan. He attended Washington High School, UC Berkeley, and UCSF, where he earned his Doctor of Pharmacy. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve and worked as a pharmacist for 39 years. In the winter of 1962, during a rare San Francisco snowfall, Alex married the love of his life, Fareeda. They shared 63 years, raising five children and later welcoming a grandson. Faith and family guided Alex's life. He was active in the Greek Orthodox Church, singing in the choir and with the Dorian Singers and the Belmont Festival Singers. Alex was a champion golfer and chess player and loved square-dancing, boating, and water sports. He is survived by his wife, Fareeda; children Cathy (Angelo), Carol, George, John, and Alexandra; and grandson, Alec. Services: Trisagion Thursday, September 25, at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Church, 999 Brotherhood Way, San Francisco. Funeral Service on Friday, September 26, at 11:00 a.m., Burial at Greek Orthodox Memorial Park, Colma at 12:30pm, luncheon to follow.

A wonderful person who loved Fareeda and his family so much. Intelligent, great sense of humor, mischievous , always fun to talk to about anything, but especially about golf; a true gentleman. He will be missed by everyone.

I am very pleased to write these words about Alex, a fellow Washington High School "Panther," two years ahead of me.
How very many times Alex and Fareeda asked me if I `d like a ride home from Belmont Greek Festival Choir rehearsals. Alex was a kind gentleman, and a perfect person I was privileged to know.
