Our beloved mother Alicia Aybar Nevarez passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024 surrounded by her loving children Hector (Marina) Joaquin, Soledad and Patricia Nevarez. She was 96 years old.
Alicia was preceded in death by her beloved husband George and their children Marylou Luna, Philip, David & Rosalinda Nevarez.
Alicia was born in Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico to the late Juana Perez and Joaquin Aybar, arriving in San Francisco in 1954. She met her husband George J. Nevarez in 1955 and started a wonderful family. Together they had 7 children. She leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Alicia was a great mother, and truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She will be in our hearts forever.
Friends may visit Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 2pm-5pm at Driscoll's Valencia St. Mortuary, 1465 Valencia St. SF, CA 94110, where a Rosary will be held at 4pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, August 2, 2024 at 10am at St. Peter Church, 1200 Florida St, SF, CA 94110. Burial to follow at Skylawn Memorial Park, CA-35 at Highway 92, San Mateo, CA 94402. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter School, San Francisco.
