Amy Jacobsohn Obituary

Amy Jacobsohn Born October 7, 1945. Amy passed away on September 15 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She has been an inspiration to others for what she accomplished in the face of adversity. She refused to let her illness diminish her enthusiasm to live life to its fullest. Amy was born in Brooklyn, NY and received a Masters degree in speech pathology. She improved the lives of children who were fortunate to fall under her guidance. Amy moved to California in 1969 with her husband and has lived in Berkeley since 1974. She will always be remembered for the unending devotion, kindness and compassion she displayed to her family and friends. She is survived and revered by her loving husband, Steven, her children Erica and her husband Alain Augustin, her son Jed and his wife Lika, her grandson Noah Augustin, her sister Gina and her husband Ed Drucker along with a large number of devoted family members and friends. A celebration of her life will take place on Sunday, September 20 at 5:00PM in Berkeley at 214 Hillcrest Road. Memorial donations in Amy's name can be made out to Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center with memo line designating "melanoma research fund".
