Andrew Oldfield

At 91 years of age, Andy passed away peacefully on November 17, 2013, with family at his side.

Andy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

Andy has now joined his beloved wife, Joyce (1981), daughter, Linda Brassard, older sister, Joyce and twin sister, Tilly.

He will be missed by his son-in-law, Paul Brassard, Ryan and Sheryl, son, Gary (Sue), Micheal, Shane & Karen, Kevin & Trevor, Debbie Cyr (Kim), Jenny & Kerry, Clark (Christina), Britnee & Cole. Many great grandchildren, as well as, special friend and companion, Otis.

Andy was born in Calgary Alberta, September 9, 1922, to parents, Charlie and Annie Oldfield. Andy lived in Calgary where he met his wife Joyce and had their children, Linda, Gary and Debbie. In 1962, the family moved to Port Alberni and Andy started work for the City Works Yard. A few years later, Clark was born. Any was a very hard worker, he loved his job and was very disappointed that he had to retire in 1987. During retirement he loved to garden, he had such a green thumb. He also loved going to the Legion, playing cards with his friends. Andy enjoyed going to all the meat draws in town. He was always so proud when he won. He loved his family, especially his grandkids coming to visit. But most of all, he loved to go fishing with his sons every weekend.

Andy was a wonderful man, he would give the shirt off his back to help anyone. He will truly be missed by his family, friends and everyone that knew him.

We would like to thank Dr. White and Melissa Netzer and all the wonderful staff at Westhaven for taking such good care of him.

There will be no service, as Andy wanted. The family will have a private gathering at a later date.
