Ann Mitchell Obituary

Ann Mitchell
October 28, 1939 - March 5, 2024
Ann Therese Mitchell passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 5. She was 84 years old.
Ann was a third-generation San Franciscan, born on October 28, 1939, to Albert and Mary Reynolds, and grew up with her brother, Robert Reynolds, in the Mission District, surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She attended St. Peter's, St. James, and ICA, where she made many lifelong friends.
When Ann was 16 years old, she met the love of her life, George Mitchell. They were married for 61 very happy years, until George's passing in 2020. They began their married life in San Bruno, where they raised their three children. Family was truly the center of Ann's life. She created a beautiful home and filled it with many lovely things she created through her quilting, knitting, and embroidery.
Throughout their marriage, Ann worked with George side by side as he started his cabinet manufacturing plant. After their children were out of the house, they retired and spent a lot of time at their cabin with family and friends and traveled extensively. Ann cherished her friends throughout her life, nurturing friendships from elementary school, high school, the neighborhood, PTA, MOAFs, and the Assistance League. Ann's volunteer work at the Assistance League and sewing blankets for babies in the ICU were truly a joy in her life.
Those who loved Ann will always be touched by her unconditional love, kindness, generosity, sense of humor, sheer joy, and appreciation of life.
Ann is survived by her loving children, Pamela Fenech (Nick), Robert Mitchell (Kimberly), Jennifer Flahavan (preceded by John); and her grandchildren, Candice Craft (Erik), Courtney Johnson (Daniel), Joseph Fenech (Harkirat), Michael Flahavan, Kevin Flahavan, Nathan Bridgette, Blake Stratford; and her great-grandchildren, Maddox George Johnson and Kaiden Khalil Johnson.
Services are to be held at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1310 Bayswater Ave., Burlingame, on April 12, at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of sending flowers, please send donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org).

Ann, was such a wonderful lady!. We became friends when our children attended Carl Sandburg school, in San Bruno. I have such wonderful memories of our days in PTA. Fashion Shows, and "THE CARNIVAL"!!!. My family and I, moved away from San Bruno, some 50 years ago, but Ann and I reconnected, when I moved back to the Bay Area in 2008. She will live on in the hearts of so many people!. Especially, mine!. Rest in peace, my dear friend!. I know that you and George are together, again.

Met Ann and George in San Bruno in 1968. Our children went to the same grammar school- Carl Sandburg. Had many good times with them. At their cabin in Sonora and traveling together to places around the world. Will miss Ann very much. John and Lorrie Aaro
