Anthony Hartzer Obituary
August 1, 1952-March 8, 2021
Hartzer, Anthony (AJ) passed away at his home in Novato, California on March 8, 2021. Anthony was the son of the late Joseph and Bette Hartzer, brother to the late Robert, Richard, and Helen Hartzer, and many longtime friends.
Anthony was born in San Francisco, graduated from Lincoln High School and went on to join the San Francisco Police Department on September 12, 1983.
Anthony was awarded many commendations including the Gold Medal of Valor for his courageous actions at the San Francisco Pine and Franklin incident on November 13, 1994. Funeral arrangements will be held on June 15, 2021 at 11:30 at Cross Cemetery in Colma, California. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the San Francisco Police Widow and Orphans Aid Association of the San Francisco Police Department, P.O. Box 4247, San Rafael, California

So sorry to hear of Tony's ( AJ ) passing. I remember the good times with you and your family, and the time your family let me go to Twain Heart with you all.
I was wondering why the emails stopped..Guess they don't have internet up there. I'm saddened at the loss of such a great person and hope you are with Robert, Richard, Helen and you great mom and dad.
Can truly say 'Yah done good kid" and when I run into many of the retired SFPD guys, they all speak highly of you.

One of my favorite memories of you was when you used to pick me up at my house by driving over the sidewalk and onto our front lawn! I can still hear my father yelling and you just howling with laughter!

Oh Tony, I just heard & am so saddened. We’ve known each other since we were 15 years old & so glad we reconnected 17 years ago in Twain Harte! It was wonderful to spend the evening laughing & crying over our memories that were more than 35 years old! I hope we’ll meet up again after this life ❤

We had some very memorable summers at the "Plaz." We water skied, swam, bbq'd, played cards, let's of stuff. Even parasailed once. I will sure miss your generosity and fun nature. May you rest in peace. ❤
