Amazing ! I read this obituary by chance because I recognized the name, Ragusa. Mr. Ragusa was my Social Studies teacher at Burbank Jr. High for one semester. I have often thought of Mr. Ragusa all these years because he was so kind to me, I had come from Italy about 3yrs. before and my English was spotty. Sounds like he had a great life and deservedly so. May he rest in peace .

I had the greatest privilege of working with Mr. Ragusa many, many years ago as a Junior Counselor with Silver Tree Day Camp (SF Rec & Park) in Glen Park. Mr. Ragusa was the epitome of a class gentleman and left such a wonderful impression with me that has stay with me to this day. You meet so few people like him in one's lifetime....I truly feel blessed to have known him! My condolences to the Ragusa family...Ron, Frankie and Gino...God Bless! Rest well, Purple Camp Counselor!

Tony was the kindest person to me when we played soccer at USF in 1950. Going on a Championship team at this time was one of the best things that could have happened to me.
Later when we lived in San Francisco we would run into each other at times and he was the same person each time we met. To say he was a lifetime friend was proven over and over and we lived lives for others for almost a century. Rest in Peace my friend.

Tony and Ron, May the many memories of your day give you comfort during this difficult time. It's crazy to think that after so many years we find out we are cousins. I had forgotten that he was part of Silver Tree Camp, lots of good memories there. May he Rest In Peace.

72-73 PE Teacher: great balance between strict and fair. Deep respect for him. Saw him 10 years later walking his dog at the Marina Greens. Not sure if he remember him, but he impressed me with a friendly conversation. Had a crew cut back then.

Although, I never met Anthony Ragusa ... I do
know what a wonderful person he was, as I knew well his son, Ronnie! Ronnie is a genuine loving person, and a family man.... who fell in love with my dear sweet friend Michelle and had 3 beautiful children .., and then Frankie and his lovely wife had 2 adorable sons, Bruno and Dino - they ALL loved Anthony SO much and will always cherish their memories... always . May Anthony rest in peace and we can thank God he is no longer suffering here on earth ...
All my love, Lisa Lucchesi

My deepest condolences to the family. He was my PE teacher at Luther Burbank. I´ll never forget that he allowed me to do extra credit (reports on different sports) so I could earn an A because I didn´t do well in PE due to my asthma condition. I was striving for straight A´s so I could get the hallway pass and other privileges. I talked to him about it and he allowed me this opportunity. He was a supportive teacher. He was known for being a kind of tough PE teacher but I found him approachable and understanding. RIP Mr. Ragusa
