B. Grossenbacher Obituary

B. Jane Grossenbacher Friends will gather to celebrate the life of B. Jane Grossenbacher, who died at her home in San Francisco after a battle with ovarian cancer Sept. 16. Born in 1951 in Tulsa, OK, Jane studied at Indiana University and San Francisco Art Institute. She loved adventure and traveling - to Spain to study flamenco dancing and to Morocco to shoot photos. She traveled with a circus for a year and lived and worked in England and in Santa Fe, New Mexico before settling in San Francisco. Collectors include the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. She had been teaching at the Academy of Art, and living in Project Artaud with artist Keith Bjorkman, her husband of 16 years. She is also survived by a sister, Mary Lee (Elden) Gutwein of Monticello, IN; an aunt and two uncles. The memorial will take place from 2-6 pm Sat, Nov. 29 at the Project Artaud Theater, 450 Florida St., SF. Visitors are asked to call 415-863-1651 to respond. My dear Jane is always in my heart.

Jane is the best friend and pal that one can have. We met in Sevilla had many adventures there and never lost contact for long. We danced through life together. I miss her sunny spirit so much. Jane enriched my life and shared both my sorrows and happiness. She was true to her art and was happy to have found teaching to share her love of photography.
