Barbara Anderson Obituary

Barbara Ann Anderson

July 26, 1937 - June 13, 2014

On June 13, 2014, Barbara Ann Anderson passed away, peacefully, in her sleep, embraced by her daughter and granddaughter after a long battle with lung disease.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, and love of her life, Roy C. Anderson. She is survived by her daughter, Maria Romero, granddaughter Vanessa Anderson, son-in-law Gary Romero, step-son Tom Anderson, daughter-in-law Sandy Anderson and their two children Stacy and Tom Jr.
Barbara, a long time resident of San Francisco, originally hailed from Victoria, British Columbia, where she worked as a legal secretary and was one of the top Latin Dance instructors at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio.
Barbara arrived in the United States in the early 1960's. After working for two years at the corporate offices of the Flamingo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, she settled permanently in San Francisco. It was in San Francisco where Barbara met Roy, whom she married in 1975. She went on to open up a successful personnel agency, Barbara Arden Personnel, Inc. specializing in legal professionals and para-professionals. Barbara's was the first female owned agency in the San Francisco bay area to place attorneys, as well as paralegals.
Barbara successfully ran the agency for 33 years before retiring in 2008.
Barbara loved to entertain and be entertained. She, Roy, and Maria traveled to Maui every summer for many years, creating beautiful memories for themselves and those around them.
Barbara will long be remembered by her family and friends for her strength, courage, loyalty, timeless elegance, and "tell it like it is" attitude.
Barbara's ashes will be scattered at sea with her late husband Roy C. Anderson in a private ceremony on the Wacky Jacky. A celebration of her life will follow soon, date to be determined.
