"Coach" will never be forgotten. We shall always remember his warm smile, his camraderie, and his love of basketball, which he happily shared with friends and basketball lovers of all ages. He will be missed!
Eileen, we hold you close in our hearts.

Effervescence is the word that Julie thought of when we tried to find one word to associate with Bill...
We will always remember his openness, exuberance, and joie de vivre...in short, his effervescence.
He was among the world's easiest people to talk to, and he had a lot to say on many subjects!
Anyone ever touched by Bill's extraordinary energy and passion for his interests (from sports to world history, to the everyday experience of life), will never forget him.
All our sympathies and good wishes to you, Eileen, and to all our aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends in the extended Aires family.
With love,

I met Coach in 2006 at The Final Four Tournament. Although I only knew Coach for a few years, my time spent with him was plentiful. In this short period of time we had a few heart to heart talks. He mentored me in many areas of life and always made my time with him extremely pleasurable. I always felt better after being with Bill and Eileen. His surrounding friends and family that I was fortunate enough to meet are people I'm humbled to call my friends. The way in which he conducted his life is a testament to the impact he had on all of those who he touched during his time here. We can only hope that we will be as positive a roll model as our beloved Coach. Coach, you will be sorely missed and I look forward to the day I see you again. God Bless you my friend.

I am a Novato High Alumni class of 1971. Mr. Aires was my history teacher and I watch him often coaching our basketball team while I was in attendance there. I am so sorry for your loss.
