Carol Alexander Obituary

Carol Alexander
06/03/1926 - 11/17/2025
We are writing in Celebration of our Mother's Life. Carol was born in Ogden, Utah on June 3, 1926. She graduated from Ogden High in 1943 and attended the University of Utah. While visiting her parents in Boise, Idaho during a summer break she happened to meet our Father. After a dating period of two weeks they married at the Ada County courthouse. Mom was 19 and our Father was 26, much to the shock and later satisfaction of her parents. (Their marriage lasted 49 years) Dad was home on leave from the Army Air Corps. He was a pilot on B-18s, B-24s & B-26 Bombers and a short stint flying P-38 Fighters in the Corps, flying missions out of Italy over the Brenner Pass and into Bavaria.
As the war ended Mom and Dad settled in Boise. They both wanted children, however, Mom had a tubal pregnancy, which precluded her from having additional children. They adopted the three of us. One in 1950 & two others (Jan & March) in 1955. We could not have been luckier.
We spent winters skiing at Bogus Basin and summers water-skiing and sailing on that pane of glass that was Lake Tahoe.
Mom and Dad retired to Scottsdale in 1979 where they enjoyed golfing and socializing with old friends and new acquaintances.
Upon the death of our father in 1995 Mom remained at her home in Scottsdale. After a period of six years or so, a friend suggested she meet a friend of hers. Apprehensibly, Mom agreed. So enters David Beronio of Vallejo. Mom becomes a 16 year old again, dashing off to answer a ringing phone etc etc.
David and Mom blended so well, and lead a sweet romance for years.
A caregiver at her facility took my arm as we were clearing her room after her death and said "Thank you for sharing your Mom with us." We say "thank you Mom" for you and our beautiful lives.
Mom is survived by her brother, Karl S. Chanmberlain (91) Las Vegas, and sons Sterling Michael Alexander Jr. (Madera,CA), Chris Layne Alexander (Mesquite, NV) and daughter, Claire Marie Alexander (Rocklin, CA) as well as 3 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Donations will be accepted on behalf of our Mother to: Sutter Health Hospice at [email protected]/giving
