Catherine Ann Campbell

Catherine Ann Campbell Catherine Campbell, much loved wife, mother, sister and friend, died unexpectedly on September 23, 2007. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Donald McKinley Campbell; two sons, Matthew McKinley Campbell and Evan Brodd Campbell; and sister, Barbara Brodd Swanson (Ronald). She was predeceased by her parents, Helen Fallen Brodd and Arthur Brodd, and her infant daughter, Christina Eugenia Campbell. Catherine was born August 17, 1948 and spent her childhood in Door County Wisconsin and the greater Chicago area. She was a graduate of Roycemore School, Dennison University and held a masters degree in special education from Dominican University of San Rafael. Her professional life included time as a flight attendant, a teacher of developmentally handicapped children and adults and, for the last 25 years, as owner of Catherine Campbell Interiors. During her thirty-plus years in the Bay Area, she has shared her talent, humor and intellect with a multitude of friends and colleagues. Her passions were family, the arts, gardening, good books, travel, gourmet cooking, and all things Scandinavian. A shining example of her generosity was her gift of interior design for the George Mark Children's House, a pediatric hospice dear to her heart. She was an active member of the Piedmont Community Church, Chapter IC, P.E.O. Sisterhood, the Fine Arts Museum Guild. A Memorial Service will be held at Piedmont Community Church, 400 Highland Ave., Piedmont, Oct. 4, 2007, 1pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her honor may be made to Clausen House, 88 Vernon St. Oakland, CA 94616 and the George Mark Children's House, 2121 George Mark Ln., San Leandro, CA 94578.
