Chad Newhouse

Chad Newhouse Geoffrey Chad Newhouse, a bright, handsome man of remarkable diversity who had the keen eye of a visionary, died far too early at the age of 42 on the evening of Dec. 2, 2012.
Chad, at 10, earned enough money from his newspaper route to buy a stereo set. He was an all-star soccer player and baseball slugger before entering Bishop O'Dowd High School in Oakland were he played football and lacrosse and was an excellent snow skier. He became an Eagle Scout before graduating from U.C. Davis with a double major in 1993.
His love of the guitar led to his composing music and the launching of his own company, Newhouse Records, which received positive reviews for Chad's creativity.
Gifted intellectually, he often was the "smartest one in the room." He spoke several languages and wrote brilliant scripts for his own amusement. He was a sharp conversationalist with a dry wit, and he was current on world events throughout his life.
Though he lived in San Francisco and Oakland as an adult, and was perfectly at home on both sides of the Bay, he truly loved the Raiders and A's, which brought out his opinionated side.
Chad's many friends and family miss him terribly. He had a very good heart.
He is survived by his parents, Dave and Patsy Newhouse of Oakland, a brother, Casey (Michelle) Newhouse and nephew Callan Newhouse of Kirkland Wash., an aunt , Phyllis Newhouse of Menlo Park, and uncle and aunt Bob and Mary Carol Lewis of Reno, NV.
Alta Vista Funeral Service of Pacheco handled the cremation. A memorial service will be held Sunday Jan. 6, 2:30 p.m., at the Colombo Club, 5321 Claremont Ave., Oakland (510-653-9020).
Coping can be a struggle, so all parents, hug your children. Life isn't predictable or everlasting.
