Charlene Adolph Obituary

Charlene Junker Adolph
09/15/1950 - 11/02/2025
Charlene Junker Adolph, 75, passed away peacefully November 2nd after a long illness.
Charlene was born Linda Charlene Junker on September 15, 1950 to William O. Junker, Jr. and Grace Kellett Junker of Spartanburg, SC. She graduated from Spartanburg High School with honors in 1968 and from Randolph College in 1972 with a degree in Mathematics. She excelled at her chosen career in computer software development, moved to the S.F. Bay Area and had a successful career as a Project Manager at both The Gap and Mervyn's. Her greatest satisfaction came from helping her coworkers advance their careers.
Charlene met her husband, Keith, in 1975 when they worked together on a software project in Raleigh, NC. They married in 1977 and settled in Foster City, CA, where they lived most of the rest of her life. Their daughter Lauryn was born in 1985 and their son, Kevin, in 1986. Charlene retired from work in 1994 to care for her family, enjoying school activities, ballet recitals and many, many soccer games.
Charlene was avid in her pursuit of physical fitness, attending aerobics classes and swimming several times a week. She enjoyed reading, knitting, cooking, and attending plays at the local Hillbarn Theater and at ACT in San Francisco. She was an active member of Saint Ambrose Church in Foster City and served for a number of years as Directress of the Altar Guild.
Charlene will be remembered by all who knew her for her natural instinct for organization, her eagerness to help others succeed, her boundless energy, and her quick wit.
She is survived by her husband, Keith Adolph, and her daughter, Lauryn Simon. Her brother, William O. Junker III and her son Kevin Adolph preceded her in death.
A celebration of Charlene and memorial service will be held Saturday, January 24th, 2026 at St. Ambrose Episcopal Church in Foster City. Guests are welcome to view pictures and pay respects privately from 10 - 11 AM. The memorial service will begin at 11:15 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
