Charles "Charlie" James Domerofski, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2023 in South San Francisco. He was born on November 2, 1943, in Vallejo, CA, to Fred and Vera Domerofski.
Charlie, fondly known for his humor and hearty laughter, lived a fulfilling life dedicated to serving his community and nurturing his family. He devoted his career to law enforcement, earning widespread respect for his services to the City of South San Francisco Police Department and the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office before retiring.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Charlie was a committed member of the Elks Lodge South San Francisco and the Italian American Citizen's Club of South San Francisco. He served with distinction as the Elks Lodge's Exalted Ruler, a role that allowed him to continue contributing to the welfare of his community while building enduring friendships. In every aspect of his life, Charlie exemplified commitment, integrity, and a spirit of laughter. He truly lived life on his own terms and, as he would say, did it his way.
Charlie was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Vera Domerofski, his brothers, Fred and Steven, and sister Diane. He leaves behind a family that will remember him fondly: his loving wife Kathleen, children Matthew, Daniel, and Elizabeth, their spouses Kim, Sandie, and Dave, and his cherished granddaughter Sarah. He is also survived by his sister Paula, and brothers Chris and Michael.
A celebration of Charlie's life will be held on Saturday, July 15th, 2023 at the Elks Lodge, 920 Stonegate Drive, South San Francisco. Gathering starts at 11:00 AM, with lunch being served at noon. The family invites you to join them in honoring Charlie's memory and the indelible impact he made on all those fortunate to know him.
