January 6, 1964 - April 9, 2016
of Hingham, formerly of Cambridge and San Francisco, CA. Passed unexpectedly on April 9th, 2016. Beloved husband of Rebecca Flaherty (Taber) of Hingham. Loving father of Charles Francis Flaherty III, and Audrey Cynthia Flaherty of Hingham. Devoted son of Former House Speaker Charles F. Flaherty Jr. and Evelyn Walsh Flaherty. Cherished brother of Timothy R. Flaherty and his wife Lisa of Cambridge, Maura Flaherty and her husband Jim Moysey of Boston, and Daniel Flaherty and his wife Julie of Belmont. Proud uncle of Mason, Elizabeth, Danny, and Timothy. Also survived by many close relatives and friends. First Vice President Morgan Stanley, MBA, CFA, Graduate of BC High 1981, Boston College 1985, and Babson College MBA 1991. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John's Church, 2254 Mass Ave. North Cambridge at 11am. Visiting hours will be held from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut Street, ARLINGTON (Adjacent to St. Agnes Church) on Tuesday from 3-8 pm. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chip's memory may be made to the Charles T. "Chip" Flaherty Scholarship Fund, Boston College High School, 150 William T. Morrissey Blvd. Dorchester, MA 02125. A year has now passed, and I again want to pass along my deepest sympathies to the whole Flaherty family. Chip was my best friend for 10 summers growing up in Humarock, MA. Whether jumping off the bridge into the frigid waters of the river, or hanging out and sharing some good times and laugher, Chip was a true friend, no matter the circumstances. Even though it has been many years since we shared a good laugh, I will always treasure the memories of growing up with Chip during those turbulent and exciting years as a teenager.

I just learned of Chip's passing in the Babson alumni magazine. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Chip and I became friends at Babson and fell out of contact due to my working abroad. Chip was truly one of those larger than life guys, but more importantly he was authentic and genuine. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Tim and the Flaherty family,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences, Chip was a great guy and a tremendous help to me when I transferred into BC High as a sophomore. He really showed me the ropes and was a lot of fun to be around whether at school or riding the Red Line to and from the campus with occasional stops at Park St. or Harvard Sq. I'll never forget his friendship and am very saddened to learn of his passing. RIP Chip and prayers to you and your family. You were truly one of a kind.

So very shocked and saddened to hear of Chip's passing. He was larger than life in so many ways - always with a great smile and a hearty hello. We have so many great memories of him and even captured him on our wedding video. He will be missed and we will think of him fondly. I am stunned to hear about Chip's passing. I knew Chip from taking the Hingham Commuter Boat several years back. We hit if off right away and always had great chats on the back of the boat no matter what the weather was - a hardy soul, full of fun and larger than life. My thoughts go out to the Flaherty clan.
