Charles Jacobs III

Charles Emilio Jacobs, III Emilio Jacobs was born June 7, 1966 to Charles E. Jacobs, Jr., and Agnes (Angie) C. (Dyer) Jacobs at Cambridge, Massachusetts and departed this life on January 12, 2011 at his home in Napa following a valiant 12-month battle with sarcomatoid renal cell carcinoma. He served in the United States Air Force during Desert Storm with honors and was honorably discharged in 1992. Emilio, who also was known as Charles, graduated from Sacramento City College on President's Honor Roll in 1996 and received his BS in Environmental Design from University of California, Davis, in 2002. He worked as a designer for Michael Trahan Design and project coordinator for Arc Inc Architects, both in Benicia, before becoming job captain at Stantec Architecture in Petaluma. He was a Certified LEED Green Associate and was pursuing architect certification through the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards exam process. Emilio is survived by his partner of ten years, Monty Sander; his mother Angie Lawless and husband John of Roslindale, MA; sister Michelle Jacobs and her children, Christopher and Tiffany; brother Jon Lawless; plus a host of relatives and friends; and his two devoted feline buddies, Apollo and Athena. Emilio was an old soul, a man of profound sensitivity, unwavering drive and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Although having grown up in the most challenging of circumstances, he never gave up on himself or those around him and was always generous with his signature smile and sparkling green eyes. His work ethic was without compare and devotion to his career was paramount. Emilio was a gardener, a traveler, an auto aficionado and collector.
