Charlotte Martin Obituary

Charlotte (Kelly) Martin
May 17, 1930 - December 11, 2020
Charlotte Kelly Martin, 90, passed away peacefully at her home in Santa Rosa, CA on Dec. 10, 2020. Charlotte was born May 17, 1930 to the late Sulby and Louise Kelly in Salt Lake City, Utah. They moved to San Francisco where she grew up and graduated from Lowell High School in 1948.

Charlotte met Louis J. (Marty) Martin while attending City College (San Francisco). They were married on June 12, 1949 and raised five children; four daughters Nancy (Benguerel), Janet (Bianchini), Donna Martin, Denise Martin, and son John Martin.

Charlotte worked for an exclusive SF retail business for 20 years and upon retirement moved to the family property in Sonoma County where she spent many happy days in her garden. She was an incredible seamstress, loved to read, and traveled the world. She volunteered her time at Luther Burbank Gardens, as well as Sonoma County Museum, Milo Baker Chapter of the California Native Plant Society and Bouverie Preserve (Audubon Canyon Ranch).

She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years and an older sister, Nida Alexander. Charlotte is survived by her sister, Eunice Sheldon, her five children, a granddaughter, three grandsons, one great grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews. She had many friends and will be greatly missed by all.

At her request, no services will be held. Donations in her name may be made to Memorial Hospice or any non-profit of your choice.
