Chuck Brenner Obituary

Chuck Brenner Passed away on March 5, 2010 surrounded by his loving family in Carmel, CA. He was 61 years old. Chuck was loved by his wife of 30 yrs., Caterina Marie Brenner; father of Phillip John Brenner & Pamela Eileen Brenner; brother of James W. Brenner, Eileen E. Barker; brother-in-law of Judy Grosey, uncle of Jamie (Scott) McLean, Russell (Tracey) Barker, Wendi (Bob) Gillespie, Laurie Rossi, John (Teri) Grosey; great uncle to Samantha & Sarah Rossi, Nicole, Matthew & Stephen Grosey, Nicholas & Kevin Barker, Andrew & Jack McLean, Finn Gillespie. Chuck was born May of 1948 in Elizabeth, New Jersey at St. Elizabeth Hospital, moved to Mountain View, CA in 1964; Graduate of Awalt High School, Whitman College, Walla Walla Washington, Golden Gate University, San Francisco. His entire career was in various positions with the banking industry starting with Security Pacific National Bank in 1970 & retiring from Bank of America 361/2 years later as an Executive Vice President in Credit Risk Managing, where he managed the credit risk platform for Corporate and Commercial Real Estate. To Chuck, his family meant everything from coaching at St. Gregory's School, father/daughter dances, always being there for his son, daughter, nieces and nephews. Friends may visit on Thursday, March 11, 2010 6pm to 9pm and are invited to attend a Vigil Service, 7pm at Sneider & Sullivan & O'Connell's Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am on Friday, March 12, 2010 at St. Gregory Church in San Mateo. Committal Service to follow at St. John Cemetery. Donations in Chuck's name to Asthma Allergy Foundation of America, 1233 20th St. NW, Suite 402, Washington DC 20036.

I am also saddended by Chuck's death. I have known Chuck since we attended Whitman College together and his early days at Security Pacific Bank in Carmel. God Bless you Chuck and you will live in the hearts of all that had the opportunity to have known you.

I was saddened to learn of Chuck's passing today. I was an employee of Security Pacific Bank in Carmel from April of 1976 until April 1978 having started with the Bank in 1971. Chuck had been the Assistant Manager under Victor Pamkowski I believe from the time the office was opened until he moved up subsequently.

Tina and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you. No one could ask for a better individual to work for. Chuck was always encouraging, generous, irreverent, blunt, smart, disarming, and always a keen judge of character. He has always been my role model in how to succeed and thrive in a corporate environment. More than anything, Chuck showed us how to balance work and family.

My deepest sympathy to Chuck's family. Chuck was one of the best managers I ever had and was a very special person for many of us at the Bank. He was so proud of his family and often counseled me to put family first. He showed great kindness in many ways, but did it very quietly.
