Clifford Souza Obituary
09/24/1950 - 04/23/2025
Clifford Francis Souza, longtime Bay Area resident, passed away on Wednesday afternoon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Helen, and sister, Joan Souza. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Denise; children Nicholas, Rachel, and Matthew; and his brother Thomas and family.
Born in Oakland and raised in Martinez, Cliff attended Alhambra High School and San Francisco State University, where he studied journalism. He retired from Pacific Bell Yellow Pages after 30 years and later moved to Gualala, where he loved walking the beaches and being near the ocean.
Cliff was a devoted Bay Area sports fan and loved attending games with family and friends. He was active in his community, coaching his children's teams and volunteering with various organizations. Cliff loved his dogs, traveling, and lively discussions about politics. His energy, humor, and big-hearted spirit touched everyone he met. He will be deeply missed.

My condolences to you Denise and family. Cliff was a wonderful person. I can still see him as a youngster at St. Catherine's in his little uniform. Cliff will forever be remembered. Rest easy and peacefully dear Cliff.

I was a long time friend of his sister Joan. We went to school together and I knew the family. I spent a lot of time at their house and my step dad worked at Shell with his dad. So sorry to hear of his untimely death. RIP
