Daniel Gilson Obituary

Dan Gilson, the son of the late Robert and Irene Gilson, peacefully passed away on November 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his son, Sean (Ariel); granddaughter, Alyssa (Drew); grandson, Adian; and his great-granddaughter, Hazel. His brothers, Martin (Sheila) and Robert (Cynthia); along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, will remember Dan fondly.
A native of San Francisco, Dan graduated from Saint Michael's Grammar School and Riordan High School, class of 1972. As an avid golfer and football fan, he will be remembered for his days on the Riordan Golf team and his participation in San Francisco City Golf tournaments. Dan concluded his career in local event work at the Moscone Center in San Francisco as a member of the Teamsters union.
A special thank you to Al and Valerie McNease for their long-standing, caring friendship. Dan will be remembered for his strong, supportive connections within the Friends of Bill W. communities in the Bay Area.
One of Dan's favorite Irish sayings was, "May you be in heaven a half hour before the devil knows you're dead." From your lips to God's ear, Danny. You are deeply missed.
In accordance with Dan's wishes, private services were held, and he was buried at sea.

We miss you Dan. You were a great brother and Mentor to me on the golf course. We had a lot of fun playing golf and enjoyed watching you make 3 holes in one. Golf isn´t the same without you but I´m sure we will play again someday. Bob
