Daniel O'Shea Obituary

Daniel Joseph O'Shea

April 8, 1936 - Apr 19, 2016

Danny was the first born here in America to Johnny O'Shea & Marie Keating O'Shea.
He died peacefully at home surrounded with love. Survived by four loving children: Kathleen (& Phil Kesten), Karen (& Lee Gurtler), Lisa (& Bryan Frederick) & Sean (& Bess) O'Shea & eight grandchildren & four great granddaughters.
Also survived by six loving siblings: Bart, Kathleen, John, Patrick (& Molly), Sharon (& Bill) & Maureen (& Peter) & step-mother Anne O'Shea.
He was the first of seven children born and first to pass. This carried over to his life as he would always be the first to arrive at a family gathering and would be the first one to leave (usually by foot – he loved to walk all over the city).
He attended St John's & Star of the Sea Elementary Schools & was a 1955 graduate of Sacred Heart High School.
He proudly carried on "O'Shea's Corner", a Richmond District landmark bar, after his father Johnny & Uncle Barney passed on. Dan was a typical Irish bartender who poured a generous drink and had a good heart. A true Irish legacy.
He also leaves behind a large extended family of loving nieces, nephews & cousins here & in Ireland. He was a simple man at heart who loved to spend time with his dog Chili Pepper and work in his garden.
He will be greatly missed by all.
"Oh, Danny boy, oh, Danny boy, we love you so"
