Daniel Usher Obituary

Daniel John Usher

July 13, 1932 - November 7, 2015

Daniel John Usher was born on July 7, 1932, in San Francisco, CA, and died peacefully in his sleep where he lived in Reno, NV, eighty-three years later. He spent his youth in the city near the Mission District and attended Catholic elementary school, public high school, and junior college.
Daniel entered the Air Force from 1952-1956, learned his electrical trade and serviced jet airplanes during the Korean War. He completed his service four years later with Honorable Discharge.
Daniel was employed by the State of CA as an electrician, and later worked for Hillsborough School District as Lead Maintenance, where he thoroughly enjoyed the presence of teachers, staff, and children.
His loving family: Lorraine Usher, Donna Candelori, Denise Usher, Diane and (Jeff) Hobaugh, Dan and (Michelle) Usher, Eric and (Aimee) Usher, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and friends will remember how he loved camping trips with his family at Big Sur, gatherings at Santa Cruz, riding his Harley Davidson, John Wayne westerns, and the seasons of mountain life. Daniel will be held in our hearts and remembered always. The funeral Mass will take place on November 25, 2015, at St. Charles Parish, San Carlos, CA. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery immediately follows the service.

His Grandkid

September 20, 2017

He was a great grandpa and was always nice when we came over. He had a big garden and I would always enjoy watering it. He was the only grandfather I ever remembered so I cried for a half hour when I was told he had moved on. I was super sad and didn't have a great rest of the day. Grandpa, Rest in Peace.

Tsuiki Air Froce Base, Japan

November 25, 2015

I met Dan Usher at Tsuiki Air Force Base in Japan in 1952 where he was the base electrician. Dan was one of our group and we spent a lot of time together. We talked a lot about the Mission District in SF where I war raised also. I have fond memories of Dan and am sorry to hear of his passing.
Please accept my sincerest condolences for his loss.

Sincerely
Don Costa
