Diane Ososke Obituary

Diane Ososke
04/19/1937 - 02/11/2026
Diane Ososke passed away on February 11, 2026. She was born in San Francisco on April 19, 1937 to George and June Ososke, also native San Franciscans.
Diane attended the Hamlin School through high school, and then graduated from U.C. Berkeley. Diane became a teacher, first at Hamlin, and then a variety of San Francisco public schools. She spent more than 25 years teaching in the San Francisco Unified School District. The majority of that experience was at Treasure Island School, where she taught first grade, ran a fourth and fifth grade Gifted and Talented Education class, and was also the Program Resource Teacher.
Diane spent almost her entire adult life in San Francisco, with a few years in Europe, Oregon, and Arizona interspersed. She was a life-long supporter of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, California Academy of Sciences, The Salvation Army, and the daily source of her entertainment: KDFC.
Late in life she even took her love of classical music for periodic visits to Chicago to attend the Chicago Symphony with her friend (and high school prom date) Bill DeFuniak.
Diane is survived by her brother Bill (Cathy), her sons David (Roxanne) and Craig (Terri), and her grandchildren Solange and Deanna. She was predeceased by another grandchild, Darin.
