Dione Bowers of San Francisco lost her courageous battle with cancer and passed peacefully with her son Thomas Bowers, and his wife Donna Mills, by her side. She was a native New Yorker who called San Francisco her home for over 40 years. Dione has been described as elegant, gracious, and caring. She was an avid philanthropist who was passionate about art, animal welfare issues, and the homeless and hunger issues in the Bay Area. She volunteered at SFMOMA and CPMC (Davies) for many years. Her heart was big and kind and she will be deeply missed by so many. Dione is survived by her son Thomas Bowers, his wife Donna Mills, her daughter Samantha Bowers and her grandsons Cole and Edan Bowers. She is predeceased by her son Stewart Bowers. She will be interred at the San Francisco Columbarium. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial donations to be sent to The San Francisco-Marin Food Bank or Project Open Hand in Dione's honor.

Dione was our loving friend. We have 2 Xmas ornaments of pagodas, which she gave us, on our tree year round. We love her and will miss her deeply.
