Dominic Serratto, adoringly known as "Mingo". A pillar of love and loyalty in the Italian community of North Beach. He bravely immigrated from a small, special village in Italy, called Roccaforte, to grow up in San Francisco and create a beautiful family. He fell in love with Laura, his Laura Serratto. They had two lovely daughters, Lauren and Chris (who married two great men, Jim Luttig and Nick Lowe). They all lived happily on Grant Avenue in the heart of it all, where Laura and Mingo would dance around the flat in the forever kind of love. His daughters will now carry on the family love and traditions. A graduate of Galileo High School in 1936, he creatively ventured into co-ownership of the Metro Park Corporation after a career with Scavengers Protective Association. Brother of Rose, Norma and Annie. (Annie is still living on the historically crooked Lombard Street). Rose ("Rosie") was infamous for her superb golf game. Known for her delectable gnocchi, Norma resides directly across from the Palace of Fine Arts. A truly San Francisco story. His grandchildren, John, Natalie, Lauren and Hannah, loved him endlessly and will continue to carry on their stories of their "enchanting "Ba" and Nonni. He was strong, sweet, lovely-so lovely that a highly respected restaurant in Portland is even named after him (Mingo's). A picture of perfect health and good nature. He was loved by his family & friends - al fine (to the end). He is our Angel now in Heaven with Nonni, per sempre insieme ( forever together). To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Dad just told me Sunday that Mingo had passed. I hope you and the rest of the Angels in heaven are smiling down on us. To your Bella Vita!

I first met Mingo in 1964 when he joined our company, MetroPark. He immediately became more than a business partner. He was one of my best friends. I will miss him...
