Donald Bowcutt Obituary

Donald James Bowcutt
May 16, 1935 - February 12, 2024
Don passed away comfortably at home after having been surrounded by family for one last Superbowl weekend.
Born in Bremerton, Washington to Mariner Jesse Bowcutt and Louisa Belle (Reynolds). Don played tennis and basketball in school. He received a scholarship to Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and later attended San Jose State. He proudly served in the National Guard where he taught riflery. He was a self-employed printer and owner of Envelope & Printing Services in SSF. Don was active in many organizations over the years: five-time SSF Rotarian President, Treasurer of the Old Time Athlete's Association, The Tyee Club, and The Press Club.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Frederica Judy (Irvin), his second wife, Linda Donna (Callan), and his daughter, Gina. He is survived by daughters, Frederica, Tamara, and Anne as well as son, DJ. He was the proud grandfather of Jacob, Zachary, Emma, Dustin, Elizabeth, Aidan, Greyson, and Dylan. He was the beloved brother of Ken Bowcutt, brother-in-law of Betty and Wayne Wenger, and leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, fellow Rotarians, close friends, and loyal customers.
Don was known for his kindness and generosity most of all. He had a great sense of humor with a quick wit, loved people, nature, and animals, loved to cook, and made the best grilled cheese sandwiches. Already dearly missed and remembered, Don's memorial services are to be held at Garden Chapel in So. San Francisco on Friday, March 1 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to the Donald James Bowcutt Recipe Library for the Culinary Arts Academy – checks may be made payable to CCC Culinary Arts, 2600 Mission Bell Drive, San Pablo, CA 94806.
