Dorothy E. Ball June 22, 1912 - April 26, 2007 A resident of Alamo Dorothy E. Ball passed away peacefully in Walnut Creek at John Muir Hospital on Thursday, April 26, 2007. She was a 58 year resident of Alamo. Dorothy was a member of the Diablo Women's Club, and the Alamo Women's Club. She was on the Board of Directors for John Muir Hospital and graciously donated the Gordon H. Ball auditorium in memory of her husband. Over the years she hosted various charitable events on the grounds of the Ball estate. Dorothy was born in Woodland CA, the youngest of eight children, and grew up in Berkeley, age 94 years. Beloved mother of Gordon Nathan Ball of Alamo, Dennis W. Ball of Nevada City, Stephen S. Ball of St. Helena, Susan L. Syar (James M.) of Napa, and Marsha D. Ball of Ceabeck, WA. Loving grandmother of Karen Swink (Ron), David Ball, Shannon Jones (Jeff), Gordon N. Ball, Jr. (Stacie), Patrick R. Ball (Elizabeth), Alisa Syar, James D. Syar (Renee), and Windy M. Noy. Also survived by 11 great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband Gordon H. Ball, a very well known heavy engineering contractor who passed in 1978. They were married for close to 50 years. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church, l801 Lacassie Ave., Walnut Creek, on Thursday May 3, 2007 at 1:00 PM.
