Edward Everett Obituary

Edward Everett III
September 12, 1935 - September 26, 2023
Edward Everett III was born September 12,1935 and passed on September 26, 2023. He was born in Santa Cruz to parents Edward Everett Jr and Harriet. His family later moved to Palo Alto. Ted returned to Palo Alto after college and the Air Force. He lived there with his family for over 30 years. He married Lois Almen in 1990 and moved to San Mateo.
Ted was a proud graduate of Palo Alto High School and Dartmouth. His eyes would light up any time he met people connected with either school. After college he served as a Captain in the Air Force.
Ted/Dad/Daddio/Grandpa Ted (GT) was devoted to his family. He was always there to provide support and guidance. When he married Lois, Ted was overjoyed to include her children and their children as his own. His extended family have all mentioned what a great influence he was in their lives.
Ted did his best to make his family happy. Somehow he managed to take 4 kids skiing in the winter and water skiing in the summer. He was the life of family parties. Typically Ted would end up playing numerous songs by ear at the piano Everyone would crowd around his baby grand piano and sing the songs. He also loved to play the ukulele.
Ted always looked for the bright side of life and the good side of people. He spread a lot of joy. It was always great to see how everyone would smile when he and Lois walked into a room. Ted was loved and appreciated by all.
Ted's personality allowed him to become a great salesman. He started sales in Rochester New York but ultimately ended up at Waller Press in San Francisco. Ted was an amazing salesman not just because he could help people find the best solution but because he didn't give up after the order was secured. Ted worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure that every order was completed properly and on time. If problems arose, he did everything in his power to make it right as quickly as possible. It is no wonder that Ted had a number of great long-standing clients. After retirement from Waller Press he took his sales skills to the San Mateo Chamber of Commerce. He and Lois where always looking for ways to help the community. Among the many contributions where his time on the Board at the San Mateo Historical Society and Broadway by the Bay. He was also an active member of SIRS, Native Sons and Transfiguration Episcopal Church. Ted enjoyed singing, dominos and bridge. A highlight was singing Tiny Bubbles with Don Ho.
Ted had a wonderful marriage to Lois. While they met later in life, their marriage was magical. It was amazing to watch the love and support they gave to each other day in and day out for over 32 years. Their marriage was an inspiration to their family.
Ted is survived by his wife Lois Almen Everett; his children Ellen (Bill), Marjorie (Trale)and Edward. His grandchildren Robby(Kelly) Jessica(Brandon) and Ce and great grandchildren Emma, Will, Hannah and Kennedy. He was also blessed with Lois' family; children Sandy (David) and Eric (Ana); grandchildren Rich (Erin) Jana (Lucas)and Scott (Jenn) and great grandchildren Drake, Scarlet and Milo; He is also survived by his brother Grant (Sunny) and their wonderful family. Ted was predeceased by his brother Allen; his daughter Connie, granddaughter Kiara and first wife Marjorie.
A celebration of his life will be at a later date. Donations in his honor can be made to HIP Housing, https://hiphousing.org or the charity of your choice.
