McPHILLIPS, Edward J. - Passed away peacefully on February 10, 2005 at age 95. Born in Vallejo and came to San Francisco in 1910. Ed joins the love of his life, his wife Kay, and his sister Mary. He will be greatly missed by his niece Pat and her husband J.R. Taylor; his nephew Bob and his wife, Bev Linczer; nine greatnieces and nephews; 19 great-great-nieces and nephews; Barbara O'Malley; the Torterrelli Family; the Nerney Family; and too many friends to mention. A graduate of Commerce High School, "Mr. Mac" worked as a salesman most of his life. A lifetime member of the Elks, a proud member of the SIRS and a knight of St. Cecilias. Ed enjoyed anything Irish, San Francisco, golf, gardening and lunch at Joe's, but most of all he loved his faith, family and friends. Ed embraced life, lived it to the fullest and loved unconditionally. He always had a joke that made you smile. He will forever be in our hearts. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 from 3:00 pm, the Vigil to begin at 7:00 pm at the McAvoy O'Hara Evergreen Mortuary on 10th and Geary. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am, Thursday, February 17, 2005 at St. Cecilias Church on 17th Avenue and Vicente, Committal at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul's Preservation Fund, 221 Valley Street, SF, CA 94131.
