Eugene Ling Obituary
Eugene was born in Guangdong Province, China on August 15, 1921. He graduated from the Polytechnic High School (Shanghai) and Southern University (Fujian). Eugene served as a Major in the National Armed Forces of China. In Hong Kong, he met and married his wife, Eunice S. Y. (Hwang) Ling on September 25, 1954. There he served as Bank Manager at Shanghai Commercial Bank. In 1964 Eugene and Eunice began a new life in America, where he spent over 30 years working with Union Bank as General Manager. Never one to slow down, Eugene continued to ballroom dance, travel, and make people smile by giving presents to anyone who touched his heart.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Eunice Ling, of San Francisco, CA; his son Peter (Aiko Morioka) Ling of Mill Valley, CA; his son Vincent (Nancy Tupper) Ling of Walpole, MA; his grandchildren Elizabeth and Sarah; and his loving nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at Newall Chapel across from Cypress Lawn Funeral Home, 1370 El Camino Real, Colma, CA at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 26, 2013.

Mr. Ling is treasured in my memory as the consummate gentleman and host. The times that I was blessed to be able to join Vince with his family at meals I recall vividly his thoughtfulness, graciousness, and inclusiveness. Although gentlemanly and polite, Mr. Ling was not standoff-ish or stuffy. His whole face laughed, his eyes twinkled almost constantly, he was inquisitive, funny and engaged. I will miss him greatly, but my loss is insignificant to the loss felt by his family, for whom I grieve.
