Eugene Dominic Sambucetti passed quietly at home with family at his side on June 19th. Born in Cloverdale, California in 1926, the only son of Italian immigrants, Gene settled as a young man in Woodland, California where he married his soulmate, Helen, in 1947 and they began their life of 65 years together. Gene and Helen raised five children: Richard, Janet, John, DJ and Mary. With the support and mentorship of Warren Baker, Gene and Helen founded Wesco Truck and Trailer Sales in 1959. Wesco enjoyed 42 successful years providing the farming, lumber and waste management industries with quality trailers and service before Gene retired and sold the business in 2001. To this day, Gene's relationships with his customers remained strong long after he left the business. Family was important to Gene and his support for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was without question. His conviction, passion and focus set examples for all who had the good fortune to know Gene. He was an avid photographer, travelled to 87 countries in his lifetime and the walls of his home are covered with photos from his many travels. He is survived by his children Richard (with his wife, Heidi), Janet, John (with his wife, Laura) and DJ, grandchildren Matt (with his wife, Gio), Annelisa, Ali and Samantha and great grandchildren, Matt and Gio's children, Luci, Wyatt, Ellie and Nina. A special thanks to the in-home caregivers who helped make Gene's final days comfortable. Services will be private and in lieu of flowers, Gene would encourage donations to the Shriners, St. Jude's or other charity benefitting children. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

DJ - Our sincere condolences to you and your family on the passing of your father. We used to give him a "bad time" when he and your mother would come over to do your yard work on Harvard Bend when you were on vacation. May you all find peace in the memories of times past.
