Fay and Tony were best friends to my parents before any of the kids were born. They all went to college together at SFSC studying Social Work, but eventually became teachers. My mom and Fay shared so many things as they raised all of us and helped each other navigate their careers as they advanced from teachers to school administrators in SFUSD. Women of color in leadership roles was new territory for Fay and my mom as well as for the district. Over their many years helping students through counseling and teaching, they also shared thousands of stories and laughs with each other about their fellow teachers, staff, administrators, good and less than good. Fay and Tony remained the most loyal friends to my parents until they passed away. Often times, usually on a Sunday, they would just pop by after Mass at Saint Emydius for a visit. Fay and Tony were the real deal. Fay and Tony were authentic and true blue friends of my mom and dad. I could never thank them enough for the loyalty and friendship they showed our family. They continued to show up when my parents lost their mobility and my mom suffered from dementia. I am most appreciative of Fay's great spirit, energy, positive attitude, and her wonderful laugh! Her heart was full of love and she rarely said anything bad about anyone. She loved her family, her garden, anyone's pets, like mine, and the birds that came to visit her yard. Her positive attitude was a lesson to me to see the best in everyone and not complain, but to enjoy every moment. After my mom passed away in 2014, I tried to fill her shoes and be a very good friend to Fay. We spent a lot of time together laughing and remembering some of the old times. She gave me a very memorable glance into what my parents' life was like before I was born when they were struggling college students at SFSC. Even then, they were having a great time together, making memories and laughing all the way. I will not forget Fay's wonderful laugh. I am at peace knowing that they are all together once again, enjoying a very special reunion. God Bless Fay.

I am very grateful to have known Fay, and have always seen her as a role model educator. I first knew Fay at St Emydius, just going to mass with my grandfather on sunday mornings, then, through involvement with all the great people there and the parish activities. Then, when I did my student teaching at Balboa High School, and learning from a great colleagues there, it was a great support to be able to talk to and get advice from Fay when she was Dean of Students, with much great insight into guiding young people and dealing with family issues.
Eternal Peace great unto her O Lord, and Let Perpetual Light Shine Upon Her
