Remarkable and immensely talented individual and a teacher who adored her students and blessed with the gift of learning. I was fortunate enough to be a student in her 6th grade class in 1976. She taught with professionalism, kindness and empathy all too rare today. Her love for teaching inspired me to pursue a career in high education resulting in becoming a Professor of English at the College of San Mateo for over 20 years. Her enthusiasm, friendship and inspiration was infectious and touched everyone she met. When I think about my years teaching, (now retired and a small business owner) I always manage to be reminded of her patience, dedication and love for teaching and her students.

Mrs. Brady was a second mother to all of us in that class of 59 kids--she had no favorites. She had the best pedagogic methods of all the teachers at St. Gregory School (early 60s). She possessed a kindness and altruism the like of which I have not since experienced. She was my source of strength during the Cuban Missile Crisis (long ago now).

Fran was and still is my best friend, whom I will miss forever. Fran and I were like sisters. We spent every night together laughing, talking, and watching TV shows. God gave me the greatest gift (Fran Brady) and her family.

Fran was my favorite teacher. She taught me in 6th and 8th grade at St. Gregory School and I will never forget how kind and inspiring she was. I work at St. Gregory, so I was still able to see her and she was always so happy and very interested in everyone and how my family was doing. My prayers go out to the family and God Bless you Fran!

Where do I begin? I have SO many beautiful memories of your beloved mom/grandma, and my dear "Buddy" that my sharing would be endless. I offer you my heartfelt condolences and many prayers. As I told you, for two weekends dear Fran will be prayed for at all weekend Masses at the Cathedral. Heaven is surely a more beautiful place now that dear Fran has joined her beloved God, Who embraced her with love and affection: "Welcome dear Fran into my Kingdom." Fran will be sorely missed by her multitude of friends.

With love and prayer,
Esther

I was fortunate enough to have Mrs. Brady in both 6th and 8th grade at St. Gregory's in the early 1970's. She was by far my favorite teacher. I just loved her to pieces and often thought of her over the years. To her family: Your Mom made a difference in so many lives. She was truly unforgettable. RIP Mrs. Brady.

Mrs. B. Just an awesome woman. I was in her class in 4th & or fifth grade back in early 1960's. Loved every day of school because of her. Mary Kane hit the nail in the head. Her smile, her perfume, her enthusiasm, her positivity. I had the pleasure of talking Mrs B 2 years ago. It was October & the Giants were in the playoffs. I reconnected with her through a Nun that was visiting with my terminal uncle Joe. She told my Uncle Joe about her connections with St. Gregs. Mrs. B was one one her closest friends. So one day this sister was visiting Uncle Joe & she gave me Mrs. B's phone number. It had been 50 plus years since I last had her as a teacher. I called her & we spoke for about 10-15 minutes. She recalled I had red hair, loved sports & was good in math. Made my day to just know she remembered me...cause I would never have forgotten her. After about 15 minutes...she told me she had to go....because the Giants game was about to start. Perfect way to end our last conversation with a very special woman in my life. Thanks for having such a positive influence in my life. See you in heaven some day!! Kevin Collins

I'm sorry for your loss, Kerry. It's hard to lose a mother. I lost mine in 2002. I think you worked with her at Morning Glory when you were just out of high school, or still in high school.
Best Regards, Lisa

The GREATEST teacher ever. In 6th grade (1972-1973) she took all of us to the stock exchange, the SF Mint and a Giants game! We learned about the Vietnam War, POW bracelets and held the school wide election for McGovern vs. Nixon. Always full of energy and love for her students. She taught us so much about how to be a good person and she always smelled of White Shoulders. I'm certain Jerry was the first in a LONG line to greet her in heaven.
