Francis DuBose Obituary

Francis Marquis DuBose Minister, author, retired seminary professor, and church-based community organizer, passed away peacefully in San Francisco on June 20th, 2009. He was 87 years old. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Dorothy Ann Sessums DuBose; his four children, Elizabeth Parnell, Jeannine Huffman, Jonathan DuBose, and Celia DuBose; six grandchildren, and six great-grandsons. He is also survived by his brother, Fred DuBose, and sister, Mary Colvin. Funeral Services for Francis will be held on Sat., June 27th at 10:30 a.m. at Ashley McMullen Funeral Home, 4200 Geary Blvd., SF. Internment will be private. The family requests that donations in Francis' memory be made to Page Street Center, 690 Page St., S.F, CA, 94117.

Words will not compare to how we are feeling, as I am writting this message our eyes are filled with tears. Dr. DuBose was, my teacher, mentor, friend and Pappy to my children. We will miss him dearly. Our prayers are with you Dorothy and the family we love you all.
His legacy will live with us forever.
