Longtime San Bruno resident Franco Franchini died peacefully in his home with his wife and family by his side on January 3, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with liver cancer. He was 78. Franco was born and raised in Parma, Italy, and moved to the US in 1956. Former US Army Veteran and sales manager, Franco was an entertaining and dynamic man loved by all. In his retirement, Franco was an avid fisherman, tennis player, gardener, and accomplished artist. He was a member of the Italian Catholic Federation Branch 213 for 40 years.
Franco is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Roberta, his two daughters, Janine Mooney and Lisa Chapman (husband Ted), grandchildren Shannon and Jacob Mooney and Robert and Ryan Chapman, sister Olga Martin (90 yrs), and countless loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
All are invited to attend a funeral mass on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10:30am, at St. Augustine's Church, 3700 Callan Blvd, SSF, CA, followed by a celebration of life at the SSF Elks Lodge, 920 Stonegate Dr., SSF, CA.

i just discovered a painting of franco's signed in 2000. i had not spoken w/ him or several years. i met him @ an art show in early 200's in san mateo. i am an art dealer. i amsaddened to hear of his passing.
