Frank Scherzer Obituary

Frank A. Scherzer Frank was born in The City he loved 94 years ago and passed away on September 1, 2011. He was graduated from Mission High School and MacMaster Paine Business College and served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. Frank worked 35 years for the City and County of San Francisco and retired as Principal Investigator for the Tax Collector's Office. Frank was loving husband to the late Lena (Barni) Scherzer; devoted brother to the late Mary Menconi; step-father to David and Joyce Barni; "Nono" to Janice Greenwood and Laurie Crudele; loving "Unk" to Karla Reyff, and Paul and Mark Menconi; and grand-uncle to Blaise Yates. Frank was a family man with six great-grandchildren and three great-grand nephews. Frank loved the music of Puccini, Verdi, Bizet, Rogers and Hammerstein and Cole Porter; he was an avid sports and horse racing fan who frequented Reno and Bay Meadow's Race Track. Frank was a gentleman and a true San Franciscan all his life. A Memorial gathering will be held Saturday, Sept. 10th, 11:30 AM at HALSTED N. GRAY-CAREW & ENGLISH, 1123 Sutter St., SF, CA. No flowers, please. Complimentary Parking 415-673-3000
