What I remember about Fred is that he could light up the whole SFO airport, with his "smile" alone, looking at his picture now,is just how I remember him over 25 years ago.I know he'll me missed by many.God Bless his family and loved ones and keep you strong during this very difficult time.
May he rest in peace and suffer no more.

Fred loved to laugh and joke with everyone. Among many other memorable qualities, he possessed a great passion for the game of basketball. And even though he wasn't always the fastest player on the court, he made up for it with a deep dedication to shooting the ball - from anywhere.
Fred was a great man. My condolences to the Spencer family.

Fred... You were truly one of a kind... A good friend and family person. It's too bad that God took you so soon. You will be missed, but you must have a greater calling and task with Our Lord. God Luv Ya!

Words can't begin to describe how much Fred meant to our family, especially to my Dad. We will all miss his kindness, his smile, and of course, his never ending ability to everyone laugh. I'll never forget the days we all spent at Crystal, the hilarious messages he would leave on the answering machine, or all the times he drove down the hill just to say hi. Fred was such a great man and he will truly be missed. My deepest sympathy and love to Sharon, Billy, and Dan, keeping you all in my thoughts during this difficult time.

I grew up across the street from Fred on 14th and Castro in San Francisco and recall some of the crazy times he experienced at the McKinley School Yard..... Fred seemed to never get caught. It's amazing that he became a police officer (and an good one to)........He will be missed...........A Good Guy and Good Friend

I will never forget when I first met Fred in 1975 at the Airport. Fred welcomed me with open arms, he was friendly, had a great smile and a wonderful disposition on life. We had such good fun playing basketball and having a few beers at the Belmont apartment complex he lived in . I will always cherish the good times we had together. Sorry to hear Fred passed away. Fred and I used to Play Basketball at Mckinley Grammar School back in the Forty`s, and at the Playground on 15th st. He was one Hell of a nice guy. I haven`t seen him in years, from the old days at the Portals.

Fred, you never got old and you never aged. You always made me laugh when we worked together and played basketball. His favorite quote to me was, "You'll never be MVP by passing the ball. My prayers and condolences to Sharon , Billy and dan
