It is with great sadness, that the family of Frederica Carmel Mirkovich, announces her passing on March 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 92 years. She is preceded in death by her adoring husband, Ronald, of 62 years.
Frederica will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ronald Jr. (Chris), Kevin (Paula), Denise (Brian McCarthy) and Gary (Maria). Frederica will also be devotedly remembered by her eight grandchildren, Anthony, Lauren (Josh Taft), Sean, (Ashley), Kelly (Kevin Keane), Stephanie, Nicholas, Devin and Samantha; four great-grandchildren, Grayson, Dylan, Ella and Hattie Rose; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfio and Carmela Spano.
Frederica was born in Detroit, Michigan, on February 24, 1932. When she was 1 years old, she came to San Francisco and grew up in North Beach. Frederica was the oldest of nine children. She graduated from St. Vincent High School. She married Ronald in 1955. She is survived by her brother, Robert (Marlene) Spano. Frederica was an avid member of many organizations, some of which included the Sons of Italy, Society of San Domenico, Over 50 Group at St. Elizabeth and Croatian Slovenian Hall. She was a kind, loving and hardworking woman whose family was everything to her in her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Thank you to her many caregivers, especially Josephine Moore, early on; and Adi (Dee) Uluilakeba for the last four and a half years. Their dedication and loving attention are immeasurable.
Friends may visit Saturday, April 6, 2024 10:30 a.m. at St. Stephen Church, 601 Eucalyptus Drive, S.F., followed by Vigil and Mass, at 11:00 a.m. Private entombment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to your favorite charity.
