George Peacock Obituary

George Philip Peacock Feb. 3, 1942 - Dec. 27, 2011 In San Francisco on December 27, 2011, Dearly beloved husband of Miriam Peacock; beloved father of Noah and Emma Peacock; loving brother of Frances Oliden; uncle of Alex and Nicholas Honor. A native of Crescent City, Owner of Peacock Music, member of The Luthier's Guild and St. Philip's Choir. George was the subject of a feature article in the San Francisco Chronicle on March 4, 2011. His quiet demeanor and self-effacing style hid the true power of his personality. Nearly all who encountered him went away with a feeling of warmth and the knowledge that they had met a very special person. The world will be emptier without him. Friends may call on Monday after 4:00 p.m. and are invited to attend the Vigil at 7:00 pm at DUGGAN'S FUNERAL SERVICE, 3434 17th Street, nr Valencia, Friends may also call Tuesday after 9:30 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Church, Diamond and Elizabeth Streets, where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Contributions preferred to St. Philip's Parish, 725 Diamond Street, S. F. CA 94114.

We will miss you George. You sold my son his first violin and guitar. The neighborhood won't be the same without you.

That's sad, he was a truly nice guy! The last time we were in S.F. I stopped by and bought some tuning pegs from him for my cigar box guitars.

Dear Miriam, Bob and I were shocked and saddened to hear of George's death. He always had a twinkle in his eye and we enjoyed the times we spent with the two of you over a wonderful meal.
