George Donald Tobin July 30, 1921 - March 10, 2007 George Donald Tobin, a retired San Francisco firefighter passed away in Stanford, CA, on March 10, 2007. He was 85. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, March 17th at 3:00 PM at Roller Hapgood & Tinney Funeral Home, 980 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto. In lieu of flowers the family requests you make a donation to the American Heart Association, California Affiliate, One Almaden Blvd., Suite 500, San Jose, CA 95113-2214.

I worked only briefly with George when I first joined the SFFD in 1966. I think it was Truck 16. I did not know him well but I remember him as a good officer and a gentleman.
