Grete, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and dear friend entered eternal rest March 18, 2023. She was affectionately known as "Mormor" by her three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, an homage to her proud Danish Heritage.
Grete grew up in West Oakland in a home built by her father. As a child she studied cello with master teacher, Margaret Rowell in Berkeley, which led to her father's creation of the "Kraglund Trio" with her elder siblings. She continued playing and was one of the original members of the Rossmoor String Group.
Grete was passionate about ballet and took lessons in her youth. As a young woman she proudly joined the San Francisco Ballet faculty, which paved the way for many wonderful years of teaching children ballet from her home studio in Daly City, where she and her husband, Eric raised their three children.
Grete's first child, Mark had Down Syndrome and from the moment he was born she dedicated herself to giving him a full life being his strongest advocate until his passing in 2018. She is survived by her son, David and daughter, Ellen, who was her live in caregiver during the final season of her life.
She will be missed by many, but we are grateful for the time we had.
