Guerrino "Reno" Belmessieri
October 31, 1923 ~ October 15, 2021
As a member of America's Greatest Generation, Reno was born in San Francisco to his Italian immigrant parents, Adolfo and Alfonsina. He was the second of four children and grew up in the city with his sister, Luigina, and his brothers, Aldo and Gino.
Reno served in the Army during WWII as a Private First Class and fought in the Pacific theater. He returned home to marry his sweetheart, Jean, and went on to work in the produce business for over fifty years. Reno was an avid card player and made many friends over a Pedro or pinochle game.
With Jean he raised two daughters, Sue and Debbie, and was a loving and doting grandfather to his granddaughter, Michelle. Reno loved animals and never met a dog he didn't like. To the end, he took great pleasure in making other people happy, seeing them laugh and smile. He had a very generous heart and loved his family deeply.
Reno is survived by his family and many nieces and nephews. He was loved by many and touched many lives with his humor and generosity. He will be greatly missed.
A Memorial service will be held at Chapel of the Highlands 194 Millwood Drive in Millbrae on December 4, 2021 at 1pm.
