Guity Roshangah Obituary

Guity Roshangah
07/28/1938 - 03/21/2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of the center of our family's universe, Guity Ghaemi Roshangah, on March 21, 2025. Guity was one of six children, born in Tabriz, Iran, on July 28, 1938, to Mahmood Ghaemi and Aghdas Hajebi. She moved to Tehran with her parents and siblings during childhood and completed school there. In October 1957, Guity married Shoaallah Roshangah and had two children, Mohammad-Reza and Mojgan. In 1978, she and her husband immigrated to the United States to be with their children who were here for their studies. They lived in both New York and the Bay Area. Guity was instrumental in not only supporting her immediate family, but also found time to help her friends and acquaintances. She was a key figure in caring for and raising her granddaughter Andrea Sogand. Guity also raised Andrea and Michael's two daughters, Roxanna Daria and Leila Niloufar. Guity is survived by her husband Shoaallah, her son Mohammad and his wife Tracy, her daughter Mojgan and her husband Marshall, her granddaughter Andrea and her husband Mike, and their children Roxy and Leila, her two younger sisters Sheida and Shiva, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Afagh Rafati, and brothers Hassan Ghaemi and Abbas Ghaemi . Our family thanks the medical team at John Muir Medical Center, their oncology department, the palliative care teams, and the superb and loving care provided to Guity by Suncrest Hospice. Mom, Rest in Peace, we love you beyond words. A private family service has been held. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society.
