Gust,
You will be dearly missed. You had the kindest heart and taught me so much about the practicalities of life. Things like how to balance my checkbook and the value of working hard.
It was you who encouraged me to obtain a degree in Business Administration, and often said it would be my "ticket to life." You were right. It was also you who spent several late nights helping me type out papers for school (before computers were a thing), despite your alarm clock set early to get up for work the following mornings. Your affinity for Western U.S. history was infectious. The book "Men to Match My Mountains" by Irvine Stone, will always be a favorite of mine, as after your gentle persistence for me to read it, I finally did and it gave me an appreciation for those that came before us. Your stories from travels and adventures, chats about books and suggestions added a richness to my life. Along with your benevolent spirit and guidance you provided stability to my life.
Like the "Giants" as they were called in the said book above, you are one of mine.
You will always be part of my heart.
